PDX-CSA Meet the Artists Event

PDX-CSA Shares available for sale
Have you ever bought a share in a local farm's harvest, called a CSA? Well some brilliant folks here in Portland have adapted this concept to art and I am absolutely delighted to find out today that I'll be a part of it! Portland's Community Supported Art (PDX-CSA) has chosen ten Portland artists to create new works for CSA collectors this season.
Beginning in May, collectors may invest in my concept for new artwork via PDX-CSA. Pre-sales fund the creation of the new artwork and determine the number of artworks we will make. Collectors follow artists' updates on the project before receiving their completed artwork a few months later.
To make it even better, every CSA share is available as a pairing of two artists, and they've paired me with one of my favorite Portland artists and good friend, Annamieka Hopps Davidson! So you will be investing in both of us! Up to 20 collectors will be able to purchase a CSA share of Annamieka's and my art works, so be sure to hop right on it in May if you want to purchase a share!
From mid-June through August we will make the new original artworks and keep collectors updated with stories of the process, progress photos and insights. This is such a brilliant way to nurture a relationship between artist and collector and I am so thrilled to be a part of this! More info at www.pdx-csa.com
P.S. Each artist also submitted a project concept for their CSA share, and I am so excited about mine! I will be purchasing a biodynamic CSA share fromWinter Green Farm and documenting the amazing produce that I receive weekly from them. It's a meta CSA extravaganza. More info to come!

Give the gift of ART!
Big 500 Opening (and Oregon Food Bank Food Drive)
This year I am creating 10 pieces for the Big 500 show at the People's Gallery in Pioneer Square.
The show is pretty incredible every year....500+ artists are given 5-10 8x8 panels on which to create original art, and each completed piece is sold for the ridiculously low price of $40.
The event is cash and carry and most of the really amazing art goes in the first few hours, so I would recommend coming early to the opening on December 12 and waiting in the line to get in as early as possible if you're serious about buying. Just know that it's kind of CRAZY (ie crowded), so if you're an introvert or have kiddos keep that in mind.
Also, this event is a food drive for the Oregon Food Bank, so bring any canned goods you have in your cupboards to donate on the way in!
"Winter Blossom" at Lloydean Presents
I'm proud to be displaying a small collection of my floral paintings in the wonderful new Lloydean Presents gallery on NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd for an all-floral show this winter.
The opening for this event is sure to be fun! I'm not able to attend personally (I'll be out of town), but I recommend checking it out, as the other art is going to be great as well, and the gallery is beautiful and cozy.
Broadway Art Show
I have three pieces in the juried Broadway Art Show at the RE/MAX offices on NE 2nd and Broadway. A portion of proceeds from all sales from this event goes to NW Kidney Kids.
Art is available to the public for viewing on Sunday, October 11 and Sunday, October 18
Harvesting Success
I spent many hours this spring creating a large piece inspired by the students of the St. Andrew Nativity school here in Portland. This non-tuition, private school provides a top-quality education to motivated low income students in our community, and much of the school's funding comes from their Harvesting Success fundraising dinner. It is at this event that my painting will be sold.
If you want to learn more about St. Andrew Nativity school, check out their website HERE
Beaverton Arts Mix Show and Sale
I am honored to have a piece in the Beaverton Arts Mix this weekend at the Beaverton City Library. I will also be participating in the Quick Draw portion of the event on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 10, and the piece I create there will be for sale for the rest of the weekend.
Townshend's Tea on NE Alberta
I have seven pieces hanging between July 1 2015 and September 5 2015 in the beautiful Townshend's Tea on NE Alberta here in Portland, OR. Go on in, grab a tea (have you ever tried the Milk Oolong? It's my favorite) or a fizzy, refreshing kombucha and check it out.
